Historical photographGrand Central Market was a Portland retail hub in the 1930s, playing a major role in the economic development of the Central Eastside Neighborhood. The goal of the restoration is to revive an historic Portland landmark and revitalize the Morrison-Belmont retail corridor. Today’s Grand Central Building will be an urban lifestyle center with tenants representing both local and national retailers offering a variety of services.

Restaurant and Bowling Lounge

The ultimate dining and entertainment experience is now open at the Grand Central Building. Technical Details

The building houses 43,000 square feet, features a full city block of underground parking, and 18,000 square feet of adjacent ground-level parking. The restoration included 121,000 lbs of structural steel, 129,000 lbs. of rebar, 120 yards of 3,500-PSI concrete for sidewalks, a new 1200-amp electrical service, 700 feet of new aluminum storefront, and three new street lamps.

Great Accessibility

Grand Central Building is easily accessed from Interstate 5 and Interstate 84. The building is bordered by Morrison Street to the north, a four-lane thoroughfare that connects the Central Eastside to the downtown via the Morrison Bridge. Belmont Street to the south is the major arterial eastbound from downtown.
